Audrey and I decided,
at the advice of a friend, to drive to the Sea of Japan. The Sea of Japan
is on the western coast of Japan and about 2 1/2 hours west through the
mountains from Yonezawa. |
Audrey with the Sea behind her.
Jagged rocks right up and in the ocean were common. Small towns are usally
in the flatter places. |
A little of the strong surf's
handywork. |
The sand where we visited was
very coarse with small pebbles and larger smooth rocks. |
This is a closer image of some
of the beach rocks. |
The sea waves pounded all along
the coast. Care to go surfing?? |
Here's me letting Audrey take
over the camera for a bit. |
This is a little shrine right
next to the ocean. There are shrines everywhere in Japan. You can see the
red gate leading to the shrine and the shrine itself on top of the rock. |
This is down on beach level
with the land silhouetted against the sky. |
