| In the evenings in the Piazza San Marco, the different restaurants had live open-air orchestras. The orchestras at opposite ends of the Piazza would compete for the passers-by and would often draw large crowds. There was no better music in Venice...these guys were professionals without a doubt. Coming to listen to the orchestras was a great place for a nightcap after a good meal and a gondola ride. :-) |
