Matsushima Photos March 2000 (continued)



This is a little shrine on the island near the mainland. The island is connected to the mainland by the red bridge pitured on the home page.

This row of towering cedars is a part of a larger shrine on the mainland in Matsushima. 


There were many ancient caves in this shrine... 


....which, in this case, made the setting look like something straight out of an Indiana Jones movie. 


Stray cats keep watch in the shrine and are very approachable. 


Back at the hotel, Audrey and I had a great dinner to celebrate our Six-Month Anniversary. Our six married months together (now nearly eight months) have flown by and we love spending every minute of it together!
